Representing more than 700,000 students at Russell Group universities.

We’re a collective of students’ unions, working together to ensure the student experience at Russell Group universities reflects their world-class reputation.

Students’ Unions are independent membership organisations, registered charities, led by democratically elected students. They are the recognised representative bodies for students at UK universities, advocating on students’ behalf to strengthen and extend students’ rights.

As a self-organised collective of students’ unions, we’re separate from and have no affiliations with, the Russell Group. We’re self-funded, with each member students’ union making a small contribution to cover the Russell Group Students’ Union running costs.

The Russell Group represents 24 leading UK universities and advocates for policy change in the following areas; sustainable funding, research, immigration, access, international partnerships, and the environment. Read more.
