Welcome to the Russell Group Students’ Unions Winter Residential which is taking place from at Leeds University

On Thursday 14 April, please arrive at Garrod Building for 12noon and the reception will signpost you to the space reserved for us.

For those of you who are travelling down on Thursday 14 August and unable to check in early, you should come directly to Garrod Building as you might not be able to check into your accommodation until later that day. We will have space for you to store your luggage. Please make your way to the reception and you will be signposted to our room. If you are delayed, please contact us on +447443229397. There will be time provided for you to check into your accommodation at the end of the day.

On Friday 15 August, we will be starting the day at 10:00am. Please come directly to Garrod Building. We will finish the day no later than 4pm.

If you have not booked a room for the Friday night, please ensure that you have checked out of the hotel on Friday morning prior to making your way to the Garrod Building. We will have space for you to store your luggage.

3. Catering

We will provide lunch on Thursday and Friday, as well as tea/coffee throughout both days. The officers at QMSU will make arrangements for food and social activities for the Thursday evening, you will have to pay for your dinner and reimburse it as per your SU’s procedures. The Chief Executives will have dinner together on the Thursday evening.

4. Residential Start Time - Thursday 14 August at 12noon

Please make your way to the reception at the Garrod Building for 12noon. If you are going to be delayed, please contact Ed on +447443229397.

Lunch will be provided upon arrival, and we will have a space for you to store your luggage. There will also be Prayer (3rd floor) and Chill Out Spaces available for you to use throughout the residential. The multi-faith spaces include two spaces for quiet contemplation, reflection, and prayer. It is open to all students and staff and includes facilities for ablution, shoe storage, due to summer holiday Friday prayer will not take place in the recovery room, therefore, the best option will be East London Mosque (a 5-minute walk away).

· The Khutbah (Friday sermon) typically begins approximately 30 minutes before the congregational prayer. The sermon starts around 1:15 pm.

· The Jumu’ah (Zuhr) congregational prayer usually begins at 1:30 pm.
