Our Vision
The Russell Group Students’ Unions have come together to set out a bold, student-led vision for the future of higher education.
Launched at a special event in Parliament, our vision statement brings together the voices of students from across the country’s leading research-intensive universities and outlines what students believe higher education should deliver for the next generation.
At a time of significant challenge and change for universities, our vision sets out that a higher education should be designed around student success, inclusion, opportunity and partnership.
Our Vision for Higher Education
We launched this vision in Parliament at an event kindly sponsored by Ruth Cadbury MP. Baroness Garden of Frognal spoke about the importance of students having their voice heard in Westminster. The Global Education Editor for the Financial Times, Andrew Jack also spoke of the world-class education on offer in the UK and some of the challenges facing the sector.
University students have a significant stake in their education, and we’re keen to work with others towards our vision. If you’re interested in speaking to us about our work please reach out.
Universities help shape lives, careers and society. Students should be recognised as active partners in that mission, with meaningful opportunities to influence the decisions that affect their education and experience.
This is a student vision for a stronger, fairer and more ambitious higher education sector. One that enables every student to thrive and ensures higher education continues to deliver value for individuals, communities and society as a whole.
